How Does FormaRF Work?

During the treatment, FormaRF uses intelligent technology to deliver targeted yet comfortable bipolar radiofrequency (RF) energy to the penile tissue and delicate zones, improving local blood circulation. The proprietary technology in FormaRF enables safe and highly efficacious procedures. The treatment improves a patient’s quality of life without surgery, medications, or prolonged downtime.

It uses precise thermal and depth control to allow for procedures in small subdermal layers. The small applicator quickly delivers uniform and optimal temperatures up to 43°C in 60 seconds. The three electrodes for tissue bulk heating have auto-adjusting RF thermistors which monitor skin temperature at 1,000 times/second. These built-in temperature mechanisms constantly monitor tissue to maximize outcomes and provide a safe treatment. The auto-adjusting feature reduces RF energy automatically when desired skin temperature is reached, delivering unprecedented safety.

Can FormaRF be Used on Skin of Color?

RF energy is “color blind”—it does not specifically heat up melanin, minimizing the risk of side effects. This technology can be used safely on any skin type.

How is FormaRF Performed?

FormaRF is an in-office, pain-free procedure. During the treatment, your provider will ask you to remove your clothing to expose the treatment area. There may be a second person serving as a chaperone for your safety and the safety of our team. The penile tissue is treated with FormaRF according to our established protocols. Patients rest comfortably while the procedure is being conducted. The entire process takes less than 20 minutes! Once the treatment is complete, the patient can drive home and resume normal activities.

What Should I Expect During Treatment?

During treatment with FormaRF, you may expect to feel mild to moderate heating of the penile tissue. In some cases, an erection may develop during treatment. An erection during treatment is a good indication of improving blood flow to the area and does not impede the continuation and completion of treatment.

What is the Downtime with FormaRF?

There is no downtime except during the 30-minute treatment window. Our patients are able to return home and resume normal daily activities the exact same day.

How Does FormaRF Treat ED?

FormaRF delivers high-frequency electrical current. When applied to tissue, it results in temperature elevation between electrodes which causes general “bulk” heating. FormaRF uses low sub-necrotic heating of the tissue which induces temporary inflammation and “growth” of the hyperthermic area. This process triggers the growth of new blood vessels (neovascularization) and the formation of new collagen.

This treatment triggers collagen remodeling, restores the structure of collagen fibers, and improves the overall erectile mechanism. In essence, FormaRF increases blood flow, which enhances circulation in the penile tissues and leads to the release of factors that support firm, sustainable erections.

What Type of ED Does FormaRF Treat?

There are many causes of ED, and FormaRF cannot treat them all. This technology focuses on the most common physical cause: Vascular ED. Vascular ED occurs when blood vessels in the penile tissue do not function optimally. Normally, blood flows into the penis via arteries and flows out via veins; maintaining healthy vascular dynamics enables and sustains erections.

Can I Combine FormaRF with Other ED Treatments?

Yes, you may add FormaRF to your current ED treatment plan. Make sure to discuss your active regimens with us during your evaluation. When combined with other therapies (such as PRP or testosterone therapy), FormaRF can significantly improve outcomes and overall quality of life.

Does FormaRF Grow the Penis?

Treatment with FormaRF may lead to a noticeable increase in the girth/width of the penis after a series of sessions due to tissue remodeling and enhanced blood flow.
